Bayline
The Marine Commerce Terminal in the Port of New Bedford is a one hundred million dollar infrastructure development for deep water access to a highly stable ocean going delivery platform. Initially designed to accommodate the ships and components for the Massachusetts alternative energy initiative of Cape Wind, this will be the biggest access point and control center for wind energy on the Eastern Seaboard.
Bayline Boatyard and Marine Transport sits right in ground zero. When Massachusetts Department of Energy and Environmental Affairs in conjunction with MassCEC Executive director began discussion for the use of Bayline’s property, Bayline called Tom Swift. After four months of negotiation, Bayline now has a seriously documented role as a major player in the Marine Terminal and permanent access to an additional 100 yards of waterfront on New Bedford Harbor, new steel buildings and infrastructure and security, not to mention Swift got Bayline’s attorneys fees paid for by the State! And, oh yes, the cash! Tom Swift counsel for the 46 page Easement and Participation Agreement for the New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal.
